We’re having a beautiful Indian summer here in the UK and we’ve all just been in the garden having a sunbathe – not bad for 20th September! Although the reasons behind this warm weather are unlikely to be quite so pleasing.
We’re having a very quiet Sunday and I’m on the third re-read of “Hold onto Your Kids” by Dr Gordon Neufeld and Dr Gabor Maté.
Gabor Maté is the best physician I have come across who specialises in childhood development – something important as we have two boys aged 4 and 5 years old and an 11 year old going on 18!
There is a quote at the beginning of the book by the even greater Jiddu Krishnamurti, an Indian philosopher which reads:
“Action has meaning only in relationship and without understanding relationship, action on any level will only breed conflict. The understanding of relationship is infinitely more important than the search for any plan of action.” ~ J. KRISHNAMURTI
Whilst this quotation is used in relevance to parents and children, this quotation is of course applicable to anything – including business.
There is a lot to read into this quotation, one of the elements of it’s meaning include that any relationship based purely on personal gain or selfish motivations will result in conflict.
As the team at OFEX expands, our relationships among the team and our current and new customers are ever more important for the ongoing success for us, our team, suppliers, customers and our customers, customers. It is all interlinked.
Just a little thought for a relaxing Sunny Sunday 🙂
Have a really great week, continuing to build those relationships at work and at home.
Sam.
