You want to be able to gradually leave the picture once everything is settled and you have someone you trust to handle the business but to achieve that, you must go through the rough stages too.
Financial management
It is crucial that you know how to manage your finances. If you are having a tough time in this aspect, it is always best to ask for help. Hire an accountant or if you want to do it all on your own then learn from those who know so much better than you.
Do your own research and make a business plan
Doing research or a business feasibility study is one of the responsible things to do before jumping into the word of business. It is not as glamorous as everyone thinks it is so it is better to be prepared for the worst and to make sure that you are doing everything right. Nothing is perfect but you can always avoid mistakes or mitigate them by learning from what other business owners have to say. Experience is the best teacher, but if there is someone out there who can help you avoid key mistakes they wish someone had warned them about when they started out, then at least you have the options laid out for you.
